Quarndon Fireworks Saturday 9th November

Quarndon Fireworks Saturday 9th November

This family event is on Saturday 9th November is organised by Quarndon Events, Quarndon Cricket Club and Quarndon Parish Council.

The fireworks display is free, but there will be donation buckets on the night.

Gates open at 6pm. There is hot food and a bar from 6pm too. At 7pm the beacon will be lit and at .30pm the event everyone has been waiting for - the firework display - and this year it's automated!... Read More »

The Common opposite Park Nook Grange will be closed from 0900 to 1600 on Wednesday 16th October for essential tree trimming work by Western Power.

Amber Valley Tree Planting Proposals Public Consultation

Amber Valley Borough Council plans to become carbon neutral by 2030 and as part of this, has approved plans to undertake 16 hectares of new tree planting on existing open spaces and other land owned by the council.

Nearest to Quarndon are the proposed Duffield and Belper sites.

Kedleston Road Development - Meeting with AVBC on 29 Aug 2019

Meeting between Amber Valley BC Planning (Rae Gee and Sarah Brooks) and Quarndon Parish Council (Paul Hodson and Matthew Pitt) to discuss the Parish Council's objection to the planning application AVA/2019/0573 on 29 August 2019 at Ripley.

Extension of Footpath 11 Closure

For public safety reasons during repairs footpath 11 will be closed from 19th September to 9th October 2019. The footpath will be closed from its junction with footpath 10 to its junction with footpath 15.

Derbyshire County Council apologises for any inconvenience caused while work takes place. Anyone needing further information should ring Call Derbyshire on 01629 533190.

Quarndon Neighbourhood Plan is now 'made'

Amber Valley Borough Council (AVBC) formally 'made' the Quarndon Neighbourhood Plan on 20 August 2019. The Quarndon Neighbourhood Plan now forms part of the Development Plan for Amber Valley, in relation to the Parish of Quarndon.

This means that Amber Valley Borough Council will use the Neighbourhood Plan for Quarndon to help it decide planning applications in the Parish of Quarndon through to 2033.... Read More »

Temporary Closure of Footpath 11 near Bath Plantation

Footpath 11, from Church Road to Inn Lane, will be closed for safety reasons from its junction with Footpath 10 and Footpath 15 from August 29th to 18th September while a footbridge is repaired. Anyone needing further information should ring Call Derbyshire 01629 533190.
