Take several hundred sedum plants, a digger and some willing volunteers. Add time, patience and perseverance, plus the occasional shower of rain.
The result? The Community Garden sundial in Church Road, previously woebegone, is now full of delightful little plants, ready to grow and cover the soil yet preserve the flagstones that make up Quarndon's low-tech timepiece.
