We still have some spare poppies. To receive a poppy please email your address to chairman@quarndon-pc.gov.uk. Numbers are limited so first come, first... Read More »

Carol Ravenscroft ran the London Marathon in aid of cancer research

Here is Carol's story

On Sunday 3rd October, I was lucky enough to take part in the London Marathon. I got the place through the ballot which I applied for in the previous year and it was my first ever marathon.

It was a fantastic experience, even better than I had hoped and it was something I had always wanted to do ever since the very first one took place in 1981.

I ran past several famous landmarks,... Read More »

Repair Cafe report 28th Aug 2021

Repair Cafe report 28th Aug 2021

The 3rd Repair Café event was held on Saturday. It was Bank Holiday so we were prepared for it to be quiet. For the first 45 minutes the reduced number of Repairers and helpers (due to holidays) had to sit and drink coffee and sample homemade cake while chatting. Someone has to do it!

Then things got busy! Please see attached document for details.

Remembrance Day Poppies

Poppy at top of Inn Lane

Many thanks to those of you who put the poppies up in their gardens and for contributions you have made to the Royal British Legion. There are now 83 poppies spread around the village which is pretty impressive.

It was rather a rush for the Parish Council to get the poppies ready and distributed in time but it's been a great success. I would like to thank the resident (who wishes to remain anonymous)... Read More »
