If you haven't already, dodge the showers and try a walk along Quarndon's footpaths and roads (be careful, remember your Highway Code; some roads do not have pavements).

The hanging baskets and floral arrangements are looking better every day and Montpelier is becoming a haven for wild flowers.

Blooming Quarndon!

Blooming Quarndon!

Overnight Quarndon has become full of flowers, on lamp posts, in tubs, in hanging baskets.

Quietly the dedicated team from suppliers Plantscape put the plants in place on the evening of Wednesday 24th June, so the village woke up this morning to Blooming Quarndon.

The flowers will be watered weekly in the early evening, and will soon reach their full glory.

The wild flower island in Montpelier, full of native species, is bursting into bloom. Now flowering are cornflower, poppy, corn marigold and corn camomile.

Quarndon set to bloom in June

Every suitable lamp post in the village will shortly be boasting a gorgeous hanging basket, as well as baskets at Queenies tea room and the Village Hall. There will be another large planter by the pillar box this year; look out for more planters in the village too.

Quarndon Open Gardens and Scarecrow Trail. Ways to join in the summer fun

Spruce up those borders and polish the plant pots, or just throw open your garden gate and invite friends and neighbours round for a chin wag about plants.
