Quarndon Repair Cafe
Open in the Village Hall on the last Saturday of every month from 10am -12pm
What is a Repair Cafe?
The idea is to extend the life of things that would otherwise have been thrown away. Successful repair cannot be guaranteed but our repairers have had plenty of successes and will do their best.
The first Repair Cafe session started slowly – partly due to Covid and partly so the Repair Team could get things running right. It is now a busy monthly Café with hot drinks and cake/biscuits available to buy - and a team of skilled volunteer repairers on hand.
Have you got anything that needs repairing? Bikes, electrical goods, furniture...?
If your item can be fixed within half an hour it will be done there and then. Otherwise, an arrangement to collect later can be made.
TO BOOK AN ITEM IN FOR REPAIR Please send details of the item, problem and ideally a photo to Isobel at the email address below or
TO OFFER YOUR SERVICES AS A REPAIRER email Isobel at: quarndonrepaircafe@gmail.com

From Gez Kinsella – Quarndon's Green Derbyshire County Councillor
Supporting the Quarndon Repair Café.
Repairing things is so much greener than replacing them, reducing waste, raw materials and use of energy. The Quarndon Repair Café is a great idea, with skilled repairers on hand at the Village Hall on the final Saturday of each month to help fix your broken items. So, I was happy to support the Repair Café with a grant for insurance costs, a Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) machine and PAT training.
