Quarndon Events

Quarndon Events is a society run by volunteers to promote and run social events for the village. In the past we have organised Fireworks Nights, Talk & Chips Evenings, Quiz Nights, Scarecrow, Christmas lights & Poetry trails and Jubilee celebrations.We always need new members and welcome new ideas and energy. Please get in touch at quarndonevents@gmail.com if you would like to join the team or have any suggestions for future events. It's a great way to meet others from the village and is a lot of fun.Our next event is a Wine Tasting in March 2025.

QE Wine Tasting Event

You said….we did! In our recent survey there was a clear vote for QE to organise a wine tasting event in the village hall. We have found a local independent wine merchant, Bouquet, whose wine tasting events are regular sell outs. We have booked them for the evening of Saturday 22nd March so please email us at quarndonevents@gmail.com as soon as you can to buy your tickets, as numbers are limited.

Tickets

• Tickets are £35 per person which includes 6 glasses of wine and locally sourced cheese/charcuterie board
• Non-alcoholic tickets are £15 per person which includes a range of soft drinks and locally sourced cheese/charcuterie board
• Vegetarian/vegan food options will also be available, please advise us in advance

When/Where

• Saturday 22nd March 7-9pm
• Doors open from 6.45pm
• Quarndon Village Hall

Discounts will be available on the evening for anyone who wants to buy some wine. Here's some more information about them. "Bouquet is an independent wine and spirits shop in Little Eaton, passionate about good wine at an affordable price. We work hard to find excellent wines from smaller suppliers and have a strong ethos for sustainable vineyards and natural wines. All our staff hold WSET qualifications in wine. We also sell bouquets and floral gifts and we offer free local delivery. www.bouquetwine.co.uk"

Planning for this event is now in full swing. We would like to say a big thank you to those who have already signed up to open their gardens. We will have gardens to view from one end of the village to the other with refreshment stops along the way.

If you were one of the questionnaire respondents who said you would like an Open Gardens Event but have not yet volunteered, would you consider opening your garden or putting on a plant display in your front garden that could be viewed from the road?

If you would like to try creating a small wildflower patch free seeds and advice will be available at the January and February Repair Cafés.

The April Repair Café will feature a plant exchange. This will be an opportunity to stock your gardens ready for the event.
